Why MAC
Marin has expertise, commitment, and many valuable services. What’s missing is a shared way to connect them.
The Marin AgeWell Collaborative (MAC) is a non-governmental, community-driven collaborative established to complement existing county and community aging initiatives by fostering greater collaboration, identifying emerging needs, and advancing a more coordinated, responsive, and person-centered system of support for older adults.
MAC operates independently, while maintaining strong partnerships with public agencies, including the County of Marin and city/town jurisdictions.
MAC’s role is to connect partners, pilot new ideas, attract private resources, and help fill gaps that the government alone cannot address. The County has statutory responsibilities and direct service responsibilities.
